Finally at the start of 2022 we sorted our Residencia in Spain, took our file of papers to Clive, who sorted them and arranged an appointment for us with the Gurdia in Alicante.
With some trepidation we attended the same office where I last got refused, but this time we were in and out in less than half an hour, finger printed and agreed. We have to collect the ID cards when we are back in Spain in May.
Returning to Ramsgate I had a scan, then an appointment with my "Neck and Throat" Surgeon, for a decision on the operation on my neck. Although I was really worried about having surgery I agreed to go ahead.
March saw us in Oxford for a break with friends and family for a weekend, this was great as it gave me a chance to unwind before the operation. Then surgery, a couple of nights in hospital, and apart from the discomfort things were looking better.
A fortnight later we went away to an hotel on Hayling Island for some "R & R", great weekend with friends, food, drink and entertainment. Unfortunately on our return home all six of us have tested positive for Covid 19.
We were going cruising in April, but Covid prevented that. Now using the money from the canceled cruise we are off to Spain, Portugal and Guernsey.
I have my Residencia for Spain now, but may relinquish due to driving regulations and the taxation system.
More medical appointments soon, then back to Spain for the summer.
Unfortunately the Medical appointments didn't go acording to plan, the surgen persuaded me to have an operation to remove the Lymph gland in my neck. All went well and I am now in remission, but having problems eating, I'm sure it will improve over time.
It's now December and we have just returned from a cruise to the Caribbean, which was great 28 days being waited on "hand and foot". Pictures to follow.
