As was for most people, 2021 was not been a good year for us.
It started well enough in Benimarfull, Spain, and a trip back to the UK planned for March, but when we got to Ramsgate things took a turn for the worse.
I noticed a lump on the left side of my neck, and thought it would be a good idea to get it looked at by the doctor. Because of Covid appointments were few and far between, but I managed to see my GP who fast tracked me to the local hospital. The short story is I had cancer and after a course of Radio and Chemotherapy I am, as I write this in October, waiting for the all clear.

In May we had a good break at the Riviera our favourite hotel in Bournemouth, good food, nice well priced accommodation and a few drinks. It was even better as we shared it with good friends, as can be seen from the pictures below.

At the end of my treatment, in October we had a weekend away in the Warner Leisure Hotel in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, this gave us a chance to see the ferries and cruise ships on there way to France, Spain and further afield.

The following week we went on a cruise on the P and O Britannia to the Mediterranean visiting Cadiz, Barcelona, and Alicante (Spain), Toulon (France) and Gibraltar. We were supposed to visit Livorno (Italy), but Covid prevented the liner from entering the harbour.
Pictures from the cruise are posted below.
